Meet the Bakers...

Jene

Q: If you were a treat, what would you be and why?
A: Snickerdoodle. Mostly I just enjoy the word itself. Though, I am a lover of both snickering and doodling.

Q: You just had your last meal on earth. If you could pick anything, what dessert would follow?
A: Tiramisu.

Q: What's the most interesting request you've received from costumers?
A: I once decorated a cake to look like the character Bonafet's (from Star Wars) helmet. When I finished, a man picked up the "helmet" to put on his head... not knowing it was a cake. It's probably not necessary to say it didn't end well.

Q: What is your first baking memory?
A: (With much giggling) The door fell off of my family's oven when I was eight years old and my father didn't have it replaced until I was twenty-two.

With more giggling, she pondered if that was the reason she decorates cakes as opposed to baking them.

Diana
Q: If you were a treat, what would you be and why?
A: A rice krispy treat. Because I snap, crackle, and pop.

Q: What baking project are you most proud of?
A: Making Dessert for Mayor Hickenlooper.

Q: You just had your last meal on earth. If you could pick anything, what dessert would follow?
A: Rocky road ice-cream.

Q: What is your earliest baking memory?
A: When I was very young I used to always want to bake with my mom whenever she was baking. (Again, with laughter)Listening to directions and following my mom's orders weren't quite as important to me at the time.

Q: If you were a treat, what would you be and why?
A: A fruit pie because I am pretty sure that the girls in the kitchen think I am crusty at times while still coming across saucy and bubbly at other times.

Q: You just had your last meal on earth. If you could pick anything, what dessert would follow?
A: Pecan Pie. It is my favorite and I really only eat it on Thanksgiving and the morning after with coffee (that is the best).

Q: What is your earliest baking memory?
A: When I was a little girl I always wanted to bake when my mom was so she would pull down the dishwasher door so I could use the flat surface as my own table. Thanks for being so patient Mom... I think I learned a bit about baking.

Q: What baking project are you most proud of?
A: Having the opportunity to open my own shoppe and celebrating it's first birthday.

Happy Birthday, Living the Sweet Life!
